A guide to Crysis mods [56k warning] - Page 54

Something is making my game artifact and crash. Lowered the GPU overclock to stock settings and I still have the same problem.

Other games run fine, but not Crysis.

I basically have all the editor recommended mods installed  including the texture packs/ and the reli2 TOD and particle mods. I'm running 310.90 drivers. I'll try a reinstall of the game.

Is there anyway to get these mods from a different source as the files have been deleted or are invalid :/ Seems really difficult these days. And wth is .tod file? (where and what do I do with it)
Heya! Posting what may or may not be a pretty common problem, yet it is very annoying on my part. There always seems to be a very annoying "texture popup" whenever I use the default RELI2 config. It's strange how some textures will move from high res to low res, to no textures at all, it mostly seems to effect rocks loading in the distance, but also a ton of other things like fences and such.
I'm using:
- Reygel Texture (w/ fix) also including NanoSuit pack
- High Resolution Foliage
- HD Grass
- Palm texture
- Rock Texture
- Global Ambient Lighting/POM AF

And of course RELI2, and yes I have changed around the autoexecs config files, I really only seem to find problems with the RELI2 one.
Does anyone know a fix for this? Much appreciated!

Also here's a screenshot, obviously not as noticeable, but you should be able to see the textureless rocks in the distance as well as the odd looking palm tree textures.

I installed Rygel and and REALoaded so far and I cannot run any single player game anymore, says invalid, I tried to remove profiles and saved game.

yeah, when modifying TOD (lighting renderer mod) you need to start a new game as old save games won't work anymore.
that stands true for all games I modded with such (STALKER, FO3, crysis, etc.)

try reverting back to 310.70, especially on win7x64 running non-UEFI boot. for me 310.90 was quirky at times to say at least, but on other hand it works perfectly fine on win8x64 in UEFI-boot mode (secure boot). run the GPUs at stock clocks for now and make sure you have enough VRAM to run all those mods! I noticed that my fully moded crysis eats up to 1980MB of VRAM!!

google them by file names, I was able to find each and every one I wanted.

tbh can't see it, how is your VRAM usage after you modded Crysis? mine is using up to nearly 2GB now ... and that's all I have on my 670 ...

Fixed the issue with a reinstall. On 1440p, with:

  • Natural mod,
  • Extreme Immersion mod
  • Xzeroshader pak
  • All the HD texture packs
  • Xtreme Particle mod

I get around 50-70 FPS on  a heavily overclocked GTX 670 SLI.  3570K overclocked to 4.6GHZ.

Seems low to me but the GPU usage is usually in the 90s. Also, I get dips to around 20 FPS during intense fight scenes. Funny how a 2007 game with just a few mods can put two high end cards from 2012 to its knees....

VRAM at 1700MBish with AA off. With AA on 2x or 4x it shoots to 2000+ MB

It is probably your cpu which is put to its knees, the game only uses 2 cores and on top of that you try running the Xtreme particle mod smile.gif

Atleast from what I can remember, my 2500k@4,5ghz wasnt enough with that mod, and I got pretty big fps/GPU-usage dips during more intensive scenes.

Ah, I have a 670 as well, might as well post my specs:

-EVGA GTX670 2GB
-i5 3570k
-4GB RAM
-700Watt PSU

The problem is with the textures, see how those rocks on the cliff side appear to be black, as well as those "empty" looking palm trunks? Those will flash back and fourth when I'm playing, quite annoying.

yeah LOL! I was amazed how it brought my single 670 2GB down to its knees wink.gif ... upgraded to SLI shortly after smile.gif
I was running all HD texture packs, TOD, AI tweak and Xtreme particles 2 mod (listed them all in some post on other page of this thread). playing in 1920x1200 @ 60Hz all maxed out. avg FPS was around 50 with dips down to 20ish sometimes ...

haven't had a chance to test performance in SLI yet.

interesting ... so theoreticaly even IB 115 @ 4.3GHz wouldn't be enough? I run 3770K @ 5.0GHz daily, that should do biggrin.gif

yeah, just noticed on a big screen, thought it was some weird shadow when looking at small pic ...

my specs are in sig, here's it anyways, no major trouble so far save for VRAM closing on its limits ... might need to step down on AA by 1 notch ...

3770K @ 5.0GHz
2x4GB RAM @ 2400MHz
2x 670 2GB SLI @ 1267MHz
currently on windows 8 x64 pro (copied modded game folder from win7 x64 pro sp1)

I am using downsampling, 2560x1440 for my 1920x1080 native res. Not using MSAA at all, except for Edge AA which is enabled in the config I believe. Should I turn off the edge AA?
