Copy Starcraft2 from HDD to SSD?

Thread Starter
Hello, it's me again. Yeah, the kid that thought he broke his SSD? Yeah, well I didn't and I followed the awesome stickied threads here on optimizing the SSD.

Now... Can I just go wild and start copying things from Programfiles(x86) on my old win7/HDD onto my new win7/SSD? Specifically... Starcraft2. It seems like I can play it from my HDD, while on the SSD OS.

Now, how do I just get the game installed onto the SSD? Reason I ask is actually two reasons:
--Datacap: I can't just go online and use my Blizzard account to download the whole game again. It'd cost a fortune w/ the datacap that I'm on!
--Install DVD: Yeah, that's like 1,000 miles away back at home and I won't be there for a whiiiile.

There's the problem and the question. Now for the solution/answer?

BTW: Awesome boot times! I love the thing. I've only used 10GBs of my 64GB drive and it flies!

Cant you just copy the Starcraft 2 folder and put it into your SSD. At least that how me and my friend transfer SC2 onto a different computer and it goes online perfectly fine.

Honestly the easiest way is to just reinstall. If you just start copying stuff over willy nilly you'll break programs left and right. If you're still in SoCal and we're not too far, I'd be happy to loan you my install disc.

+1 to this.

SC2 doesn't have any important dependencies, so you can just copy the program files. All my friends and I also do this, and it works fine.

My System Image is much larger than the capacity I have though, right? I mean, going from a 500GB HDD to a 64GB SSD lol would that work?

I'm actually in NorCal right now but when I get back down south I'll have my own SCII disc to install. Things are still working fine when booting from my HDD, so I'll just play there until I get my hands on the disc. Thanks guys!

And do you see the zip-bang-pow fast load times with SCII when done this way?

No need to wait for an sc2 disk: either download it online or copy paste it from your hard drive (it would be pretty pointless to redownload it online when you could just copy it).
Edit: Also sc2 loads insanely fast on my ssd.

It's the same as installing it again.

All the SC2 install does is make shortcuts and install DX9, but you already have that, so its essentially the same.
