What generally creates the most noise in a PC? - Page 9

In a good PC set-up, the Harddrive usually makes quite a bit of noise. The clicking is getting in my head!

But most people don't have good powersupplies so powersupply generate quite a bit of noise; just replaced by Dad's system's powersupply with a Corsair HX650 and it was literally silent afterwards,

GPU maybe, reference design GPU coolers usually make quite a racket but Sapphire Vapor-x is pretty silent, and there are some others which I don't know and haven't tried.

The right CPU heatsink will make very little noise.

If you get the right case fans they will make almost no noise if you choose the right ones.

All in all the GPU is the loudest in my opinion,

My GPU for sure... I hate it how you can so clearly hear the GPU while the whole other computer is so silent you can't hear it. Even at 40% fanspeed which is the lowest available in Afterburner and thus the idle speed

+ the worst part is that I can't buy an aftermarket cooler for this GPU as it's not reference..

My GPU's no question about it , those things are ridiculously loud not to mention hot.
If anybody is considering 480's SLI first try putting a hairdryer or vacuum cleaner on your desktop for your next gaming session , if you like it go for it , if not than think twice.

My power supply followed by GPU. Antec earth watts 650.

In my system, my CPU fan is the loudest fan when CPU is on load. When playing a game it's even louder than my GTX 460. Not that anything in my PC is all that loud. Back when I had 460s in SLI, they were louder than the CPU fan when gaming.

I have a pair of Kingwin 120mm fans that are very quiet (highly recommended). I never hear my PSU.

When everything else is silent, I can sometimes hear my HDD chirping.

Bubbles...

In my water loop when I first start up my system after draining and cleaning everything out. At least it is a temporary issue.
