Windows Vista to 7 Upgrade question

Thread Starter
With my college student discount, I can get the Windows 7 Professional upgrade for $29.99, so I would like to use it on my laptop which currently runs Vista Home Premium (32-Bit). Could I use this VV

on my computer with Vista HP 32-Bit, or would it be incompatible as an upgrade disk. Also, could I upgrade from 32-Bit to 64-bit if I buy the 64 bit upgrade disk?

Thanks

You can not upgrade a 32bit system to a 64 bit system.
I dont think you can upgrade from home premium vista to win 7 professional.

Just to reiterate:
1) You cannot go from a 32-bit to 64-bit O.S. You can only do a clean install.
2) Windows 7 Professional can only be used to upgrade Windows Vista Business. Al other Vista editions, you'll need to do a clean installation.
