Need help on an i7 build

Thread Starter
I am officially an AMD/ATI hater. I always get problems, and have had a lot of negative memories with them. After using i7 builds from friends and PAX demos, I decided that it is time to go over to the Intel/NVIDIA side.

My plans for the summer and beyond are to completely start from scratch. I want a new case, i7 sandy bridge, possible a 2600k, or regular 2600 if the unlocked is not a huge deal, new mobo (of course), new ram, new memory, etc. I might keep my 650W PSU if its good enough, and also my Hyper 212 unless there is something better that people recommend.

My budget isn't outrageous, no 580's, just a 570 is fine.
---------------------

My goals

-i7 2600k

-GTX 570

Everything else is open to talking. I am buying new case next week, either a NZXT Phantom or HAF 932

Comments or suggestion? (Not on my AMD/ATI opinion, just the build).

What do you plan to do with this build, and what is your budget exactly?

Oh and if those two are your main components, the 650W should be good for now, but I'd say if you go SLI in the future, you might prefer a 750, but its not a definite.

What is the absolute top end of your budget? What is the planned use? Just browsing and emails? Light gaming? Heavy gaming? What type of games? Rednering? Video editing? Folding? etc.

Might help people provide better opinions on which direction to go with your budget as shifting cost to better suited components can help. Also I assume you plan on staying with air cooling - do you foresee possibly wanting to watercool in the future at all?

OH right sorry I was raging at AMD that i forgot to add my usage and stuff.

My games: Oblivion, FO3, Vegas, DA, DA2, Crysis, BF2, Portal 2, Civ 5, LoL

I am an intense Multitasker, my Firefox always has at least 50+ tabs open and 80% of them are actively used. Plus I watch movie/audio and do photoshop stuff. Sometimes my girlfriend comes over to work on her animations and drawings (tablet).

My budget...idk...uhh lets do the math...umm 350 for the processor (i don't remember the price), 350 for the 470, idk another 200-300 for the mobo, and then ram and stuff. I'd say 1500 >.> unless that is low.
