They get hacked, they lose info, they should be the pissed ones...

What do you get?
A little offline time?

Cmon, not only are they compensating for a free service which is cool, but they are also giving away free games now for people to play? Imagine how mad you would be if this was XBL and you were actually losing money.

Give the company a little break here, its taking so long to get the network back up since they are trying to improve security so mistakes dont happen like this again. Dont hate the company, hate the Keyboard Warriors who got mad because there fellow cheapskate cant buy the games he wants.

God, this.
Relax already.
Be glad that you actually got something out of this.
Sony bowed in forgiveness IN PERSON for this.
Now they went from one month free PSN+ to FREE GAMES instead.

My brain has also suffered damage from all the "there" typos for every "they're" and "their" word in this thread.

Big deal PSN is down.
Surely people from OCN with all their E-peen (hi E-Peen, how are you?) rigs have games on it.
It's quite fascinating to see people from a PC overclocking forum whining about that they can't play online on their consoles.

I don't remember whining that hard because my NES couldn't connect to Nintendo Network.

Yes I'm dying to pwn pros on GT5 once PSN is up and running but I will do it with a smile since Sony offered their sincerest apologies by giving us free games for the inconvenience.

Apologies shouldn't have been necessary. They should've been prepared for an attack. They should've repaired their services pronto. We have a right to be mad that services have been down for so long. I'm not saying getting angry and personal will solve things, but I can imagine what some people must be feeling. Personally, I just want to get Portal 2 on Steam... I knew that "PS3+PC" advantage was going to have some catch.

What? No. I think people can get as mad as they want here.

They paid for their ps3 and games with advertised features. Then some of those features have been offline for weeks due (to a large part) to the incompetence of Sony.

I think this allows people to be as pissed off as they want.

On the other hand, I think Sony's compensation package is more than fair for 90%+ of the users...but that part is just my 2c.

If you go down that route, then read the TOS that says Sony have the right to remove the PSN service when they want. You paid for those terms of service

Hmm, that's a good point. However, if they did something like that no one would buy a ps anymore. It's not just about who's right but what is good for the consumer and the company. Sony messed up, people are going to be pissed between meh to ffffuuuuuu<rage> and they have to deal with the consequences.

I'm not that mad as I only use my ps3 for single player and media serving, but I really feel for anyone that plays a lot of multi and I feel that they should be allowed to be as pissed off as they like.

So let me get this straight:

Free month of PSN Plus (which includes a crap load of free games)
Free PSN games
Free PS3 games
Free PSP games
1 year of fraud protection

I'm a happy camper!

As we've already seen on other sub-forums here on OCN.
But I fully accept your rage.
I was furious first, but it loosened up and it made me hope the best for both me and Sony because Sony needs this to get sorted and I need this to work so in the end both loses and both has to hang in.
It's harder for Sony that it is for some person who wants to play a game.

I didn't have any important info in as I have only used the store once back in 06, and I don't play online much, so I have yet to be affected by the outage. Now I am getting free games to compensate the lack of a service I rarely use. Nice.
