Gaming OS Assistance

Thread Starter
I'll (hopefully), soon be buying an Asus laptop, and I just considered one thing - Most of the games I'll be using it for are pretty old (early Medal of Honors, CoD1, etc.).

Since I will be running on Windows 7, it looks like I'll have some compatibility issues. I have tested one of my games before (Splinter Cell 3), and it simply wouldn't install.

I want to have everything on this laptop
centralized on Windows 7, and I'd REALLY not like to dualboot OSes.

Does anyone know how I might get around this to play them on 7?

Any help is appreciated.

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate it comes with a copy of windows xp that you can run in a virtual environment and run your games in it, that might strain your computer a bit depending on the system. Also try compatibility mode properties.

Take a look over here for compatibility in Windows 7. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...s/default.aspx

For everything else there is DosBox or Good Old Games for updated compatibility.

I'd rather not have to run it virtually, and what do you think the success rate of comparability mode would be?
