have you done a stress test?

i would do small FFT prime for 6-10 hrs, and then u can see if it is stable, since all chips are different. other wise it looks good

Stress test causes immediate BSoD. Would this be due to a voltage error? Reverted to 3.6GHZ for the mean time.

Volts are a wee bit low for 4GHz. 1.45 should do it.

I'm at 1.42 at 4Ghz.

Increasing the voltage may stabilize the processor, but I was looking at your board listed in your system. Something to be aware of; You have GA-880GMA, that has a VRM 4+1 Phase count that is unsinked. You may want to add addition cooling to it before you go further with OCing and raising the voltage, for safer overclocking.

Important Link: Why VRMs are a big issue

Cheers,

Jyk

Along with what these gentlemen said, I too recommend Prime95, and I also recommend LinX. What I do is I run LinX 20 times with problem sizes of 10,000... (You'll understand what I mean when you run the program)

P.S. Congratulations on hitting 4ghz! Or close to it I'm about to hit 4ghz soon.

Also, invest in a nice aftermarket CPU heatsink and assembly, it'll do you a ton of good.

Same as what jyk has said, add some cooling to those mosfets before you do any damage to your parts like in your other thread i stated. Were not saying it to be annoying its to save you money and your parts in the long run.

Thank you for the replies, everyone. Increasing by 50mV seems to have done the trick. PCMark7 and Prime95's heavy stress test all work flawlessly. Alot of people seem to be saying my board is 4+1 VRM, I am not to knowledgeable in that topic, but I will be sure to research it. For the record I am at 4.0GHZ, 1.440V with Idle temps CPU: 38C, mobo: 30C. And full load temps CPU: 48, mobo: 30C. Thanks again for all your help.
