How good of a computer do I need for it to be a minecraft server?

Title says it all basically. Will a p4 be able to host a minecraft server for me and a couple of friends? Just wanted to see if the server needs to be powerful and whatnot. Thanks for your input!

A dual core will definitely be better. Not sure about the exact min requirements though.

Hmmm alright, I have a spare i5 2500k lying around, but I'd need to get a mobo and ram.

Minecraft is quite CPU intensive. I highly doubt a P4 would be able to handle anything bigger than 4 people at once. Especially while loading in.

Internet connection is the most important thing. If you have less than 1mbps up, don't even bother.

My Internet connection is fast, at least 5 mbps upload, I guess decent lol. It'd just be a server running 24/7 for a few friends and I to build on.
