how many watts will i need?

im building a gaming comp soon, and i need help on a power supply.

Im getting:
-ati radeon hd 6870 crossfire (maybe...)
-amd phenom II x4 970 be
-asus M4A89GTD mobo
-other things (dvd drive, hd, etc...)
how much wattage will i need?

CF youll need around 600w with 4 6 pin connectors

I'd probably recommend 650w-700w If you were doing a crossfire, that'll give the PSU a little breathing room under load.

Nice unit but over priced. I would go with the XFX 650 watt. both the Corsair and XFX units are based off of the same SeaSonic platform yet the xfx unit is semi modular unlike the TX650V2. Not to mention it is $58.99 after the MIR.

Buying more watts for "breathing room" is usually an excuse for wasting money.

That one I linked got two connectors somehow newegg wont let me open the details so just double check on that one think CF you need 4

thanks guys that helped a lot. and yes, i know, 2 6870s is a little overkill. i might go down to a couple of cheaper cards. but i do like crossfire
