Maximus IV Extreme or Big Bang Marshal

Hey

I am having a hard time deciding which mobo to buy. Here are some things troubling me:

• Big Bang has more PCIe lanes
• Big Bang can't support 3 way SLI, but the Maximus IV can
• Big bang has the OC Genie, which would be helpful to me because I am not the most experienced over-clocker
• Big Bang can clock higher but the CPU will bring it down automatically, while the Maximus IV can go up to 4.6 GHZ and stay there smoothly
• Big Bang has better power regulation

The biggest thing to me is the SLI support. I will be running two EVGA GTX 580 3 GB versions with EK waterblocks and backplates. The problem is I might want to upgrade and buy another sometime, which the Maximus IV will allow but the Big Bang Marshal won't. Another (not as important) factor is that I would like to continue to run my Sound Blaster sound card, and If I add another GTX 580 to the Maximus IV Extreme I can not use it. I don't want to use on-board audio because I also Produce techno music when I'm not gaming or doing homework.

Thanks,
- Jcoast

Sounds like you have con's for both mobo. IMO 3 GTX 580 is madd over kill unless your folding, or gaming at some retarded resolution. Do you even have a case that can hold the marshal if you decided to buy it? What about a power supply that can handle the 3 cards + whatever else you have running? Post up your specs so we can help you make a better decision.

He must be gaming at a high resolution it's the only reason to own those cards.

New build will feature:

• 2600K (Z68 when it comes out)
• EK Nickel CPU Block
• The Graphics cards I mentioned
• Either one of the motherboards
• some case (will decide once I figure out which motherboard)
• I still have not decided on what pump I will get for my watercooling
• still have not decided on the RAM, gut I know I will be getting 12 GB

I know I don't have everything planned out, but I just want to get my graphics cards, motherboard, and CPU down. All in need is what motherboard to buy, and then everything will flow from there.

hmn OC on sandy bridge is like a walk in the park, u dont need oc genie becuz all u need it set the multiplier to say 44 with auto voltage and its stable, only need to adjust voltage from 4.5 ghz and above, even my mom can do it.
