Would this be a good board? It is only $130and has IGP which I need because i wont have a discrete graphics card for a while. I saw something where it says it didnt have VRM power which I dont get so if anyone could explain to me I would appreciate. Thanks.

VRM power phase is what controls the power to your CPU and provides a clean current if i'm not mistaken. Are you looking for a Z68 board only?

It looks like a ok board. What CPU are you going with? Also I don't know if this will be problematic for you but if you ever plan on upgrading to more than one GPU you'd have to get a new motherboard.

Looks like it has VRMs to me. I am not sure how a board could operate with out at least a couple?

Looks like it's a 4+2 board, but I might not be counting right.

I don't think 4+2 would be good if he got a 2500k or 2600k and plan to oc right?

First, that assumes he wants to buya 'K' chip.

I guess it depends on how hard he wants to hit it. I mean, if he's thinking about hitting 4.9GHz, then he's shopping at the wrong price point anyway.

Begs the point, John, are you wanting to overclock, or just have the IGP?

The gygabyte has Driver mosfets which i dont know what that means. Also Ii need the IGP of the 2500k as i wont be getting a graphics card for a while. I might overclock a bit as well.

Like I said, either board should be fine if you aren't going to be pushing your overclock too hard. That being said, plenty of people are using the mobo I have, which only has 4+2 phases and pushing their 'K's pretty good. I only wonder because on the Z board, the CPU will be doing more work, not sure how much more work, though.

Pick one up and see how you like it. Keep us posted too, always like to learn about new product.
