Actually AFAIK the amperage does not change for the voltage output to the CPU. Amperage goes in as required by the cores/etc. Where the input voltage (12V from power supply) is concerned though, lower voltage may not be as good for the VRMs.

i agree, this is true.
only risk with undervolt is bsod, but chip and vrm will be unharmed.
(no risk of physical damage)

if something can kill cpu, it´s a high temp and high voltage. Period

no, i´m not. Cpu consumption at same clocks (and same load) is constant, and if you decrease voltage- amperage is going down. (and wattage too, because P=U.I)

you are telling me, if i undervolt consumption will stay same?

well, i have proof from wattmeter - the more i undervolt, consumption decreases further.
everything is colder too

That is an weird thing to say. Most of the components on ur mobo, video card, hdd, rom and memory are rated for 24v and it is run between 1.65v-12v through them.

i was talking about killing the VRMs, if undervolt, not the CPU. The CPU "pulls" the amperage from VRMs

Nope. The transister will not stop work. It will stop producing the voltage you need. Transister alway uses X amount of voltage and amps, but can stop producing the voltage if you down below a certain point. Most mobo are design to go down as low as .5v. So the mobo is design to run as low as .5v on the cpu before the transister stops producing the voltage you will need to run the cpu.

Think of it this way. The VMR are like a transfers. Design to producing X amount - x amount of voltage.

Think of it this way

CPU TDP is 125W at full load and whatever clock

CPU needs X amount of voltage and Y amount of amperage for that TDP. delivered by VRMs

TDP = Volt x Amps
TDP is constant(125W), same the clock, so if you lower the Voltage what happenes to the Amperage?
