New Keyboard Suggestions

Thread Starter
Well I killed my old keyboard (Saitek Eclipse II) when i spilled on it so I'm looking for a new keyboard now.

I don't game a ton so having a keyboard with tons of macros isnt a big deal... but I do program a ton, so having a keyboard with a really nice feel would be great.

Having a backlight is always a nice little add on but I guess its not really necessary either.

You guys have any suggestions?

Do you want mechanical? If so what type of switch?

Check out the Das. It comes with blue or brown switches, and labeled and blank keys.

If you like media keys check out the Seelseries 6gv2.

There are a million options but those are 2 of my favs.

Yes I'd love a mechanical keyboard. But besides that, I honestly I don't know a lot about keyboards, but both of those look terrific. If you had to pick one of them which would you go with?

And I use custom macros on my mouse for media control so I don't need to worry about media keys.

You want mechanical keyboard with backlight? I use Saitek Eclipse ii right now, and I love it. But going to invest in either Razer blackwidow ultimate (blue backlight) or QPAD MK-80 (blue backlight).

g510 ain't mechanical. What are you going to use it for? I mean, what kind of games do you play (if you play) and else... Because black switches are said to be better for gamming but blue are good as well for rpg and typing.

I've been loving my

with brown switches.

Spent a long time looking for a backlit keyboard that was mechanical. The feel on these brown switches is outstanding, really really good feel when typing and gaming without the loud clickity clack of blue switches. I use my PC primarily for gaming and need to press up to 4 keys simultaneously at certain times and this keyboard never skips a keystroke. Also the individually backlit keys are great and offer 4 levels of brightness. Nice solid feel and good weight. My previous keyboard moved a little bit when I would get a bit too forceful but this puppy stays planted where you put it. Also I improved about 10-15 wpm in my typing speed which I didn't expect, the key strokes are just so silky smooth it makes you a better typist no joke.

There are also the Ducky keyboard that overclock.net is selling that way you get an awesome mechanical keyboard and you support OCN, plus they look pretty cool with the flame escape key.
