Still stuck...

Now, in Windows Repair, Safe Mode, files are extracted but get stuck (freezes up) at a file named "loaded: \\windows\\system32\\DRIVERS\\CLASSPNP.SYS"

Any thoughts?

I surprised that all three modules went bad. Try to raise vDimm and see if that helps. I'd borrow a stick from a known good source and test before RMA'ing.

I managed to get into the Windows memory tester and ran the testing program, everything came up ok on that test. The RAM was totally fine prior to running memtest86, so I'm of the thought that memtest86 might be faulty, or has caused some kind of error.

I have not reformatted the main drive, that would be a nightmare and an absolute last option for me.

Update: after MUCH!!! tinkering around I was able to get back into Windows by booting to the DVD (Win 64 install disk in the player) and pressing F8 through the Bios post. This brought up a list of options (eg. safe mode, safe mode with networking etc.) and I had success when I tried the Windows Debugging option.

This gets me into a working Windows screen but when I have to restart the computer the only way into Windows is through the F8 Debug routine.

As an aside, I ran Memtest86 4.20 and the one memory stick I am using now (4GB) passed the test with no problems. This was the same stick that failed previously... weird.

At this time I think I can eliminate any hardware issues. RAM is working and passed both the Windows Ram test and Memtest86. The boot drive is working as witnessed by Windows running all my programs once I go through the debug route.

Can I deduce that there must be an issue with Windows at this time? Maybe a driver is in conflict or something?

Cheers.
