[vr-zone] Revised Gtx 590 in june - Page 11

This is bad for Nvidia. I just happened to hear that their Stock just took a huge dive ,due to success of competing graphics manufacturers . Ouch.

Hmmm... wouldn't call it "widely known", since the only piece of substantial info on that was at Semiaccurate. But it looks like it will be indeed like you are saying. Damn TSMC, screwing everybody up like that. And nVidia possibly even more.

Now you go on google and search for "PCIe specification".

I think that's mainly mobile and APU and stuff. But Desktop Radeons are doing really well.

My personal assumption is they're clocked so low because they just wanted the 590 to be able to compete with AMD's 6990, it didn't need to dramatically out-pace it, just be level with it. With more work, they could have most likely found a way to have the card at higher speeds without issues, but they rushed it, and now, we have the result of that.

In the end IMO though both cards fail. 6990 is way too loud, 590 consumes way too much power, and over clocks horribly. Take the 590's Cooling, 6990's GPUs, merge them together, then I'd say "good work." AMD just won't drop those lame Coolers.... Would have helped themselves if they'd at least used an Aluminum Case like Asus does with their Cards.

Pleased to see Nvidia finally put a back plate on their cards though. That's one thing I've enjoyed from AMD Cards for a while.

1) 3gb of Vram per card - total of 6gb Vram ~ why not? it is their flagship card, and Vram really isn't that hard to put on a gpu
EVGA just released a new Hydro Copper 2 GTX 580 with 3GB RAM too....

go on google

LOL @ 7000 series being a minor tweak .... you sir dont know anything .... its not even a rumor ... in fact there arent any rumors about the 7000 series out yet ..

its fairy well known that the 7*** series will be based on 32nm while the later releases will move onto 28nm and smaller

Of course they do.

It's just that they are late (again) and that people already hates their GTX590.

Can't wait to see if they did something more than fixing the power phases.

6990 fail? Did you know that with a waterblock, the 6990 cores are OCing HIGHER then 2X6970?

And the second BIOS of the 6990 doesn't have any PowerTune limit, throttling, limiters, etc. So enthusiasts can have fun with the card. The 6990 is REALLY 2X6970.

The 6990 was made for enthusiast, with crazy good VRMs, and made to be paired with a waterblock.

The 590 was the result of Nvidia's marketing department panicking all over the 6990. It was rush to the market to compete with an enthusiast card, while beeing a ''cute and silent'' card.

A new revision = admitting they made a huge mistake selling those 590s. Plain and simple.
