Ok to daisy chain all of this?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I'm a complete rook when it comes to this stuff. Going to be my first watercooling build...
So my friend gave me a 10k budget to build him a new computer (yeah, he's a rich kid). He's not a gamer, all he wants is that it does everything instantly. So, here's my list of cooling stuff so far (even though he's not a gamer, i still hooked him up )

Cooler Master HAF X case
i7-990X
3x GTX 580 in sli
Danger Den cpu 1/2in 360mm cooling kit
Danger Den waterblocks for 580s

thats all you need to know for now i think.
I just wanted to know if its possible to daisy chain the lc system to cool all the graphics cards plus the 990x. If so, in what way should i configure it? If not, what else do i need to get? I might start a thread eventually documenting this beast of a build...not for a while though since he wants his house finished before we go and put it in . Thanks guys.

hes not a gamer huh? he has NO need for 3 GTX 580s then... maybe 2, but 1 will fare him well.

He said he wants everything done instantly, so in all honestly, just buy a decent raid card, throw on 4 SSDs in RAID-0, get him like... 24GB of RAM (so he can brag about it), and just overclock the CPU. and also.. Don't get the HAF...
If you're going liquid cooling, take a sleekness style and look of the Corsair 800D

just my input/thoughts

not a gamer 3x580's is such a waste. It would be better to spend it on SSD's

Nah, I would go Sandybridge. Overclock that thing to as close to 5.0ghz as you can. He wouldn't need that many graphic cards though.

I dunno if a single loop can cool 3 GPU's and a CPU sufficiently, though at stock clocks it should be alright. Really, though, if he's not an avid gamer you should bring it down to 2 graphics and upgrade hard drives (RAID 0) or get an SSD (or two for RAID).

Four SSDs in raid 0!

If the CPU and GPUs are stock then it should be fine, but I would consider getting a 480 rad for all of that. Assuming he ever plans to overclock.

Though I have to agree with everyone else. If he isn't much of a gamer getting three, hell even two 580s isn't worth it. Even then the 990x is overkill.

I thought you weren't supposed to RAID SSD?

Of course you can RAID SSDs, to the best of my knowledge, of course, for 99% of people, that is highly unnecessary.

With that much money why not?

Agree with all the others about crazy overkill.... If not for games then what? Internet/emails?

Would need more than a 360 rad to deal with all that, would get another 360/480.

Would also look into a better case for WC... that HAF is not really suitable... The 800D is the current favorite.
