Don't expect to be a Thief in Thief.
In Deadly Shadow you are fighting the forces of evil but it's really though thieving you don't go head to head with people ever, you prepare traps or steal items to assist in the fight.

Yeah, but that's my point, why am I fighting these evil abominations to begin with, head to head or not? I want to rob Kings!

Then there would be no story, you have to do a little of both to add a story to the game and as far as the justification, in the first game Garrett gets recruited as a keeper and further on while not being a dedicated member Garrett still has loyalty to them and helps them when they need it.

my initial excitement has calmed about it, since i figure it will be trying to compete with ASSCREED. Much to my distaste.

Expect a dumbed down game, with a dumbed down plot, like ASSCREED.

i would love to be wrong though.

Robin Hood was a thieving story that didn't involve zombies! Heck, I don't even want a moral thief like Mr. Hood, give me an opportunist thief who doesn't care about giving to the poor. A "half Robin Hood" who robs from the rich...and keeps it. There could be plenty of story in that involving most wanted lists and manhunts. Medieval socialites don't take kindly to having their jewels taken. Don't give me a do-gooding, zombie-fighting, Keeper-thief. That's just me, though.

I admit that when I purchased the game, I had only played the demo (didn't read into the premise or anything) and the demo was the entire first level, which happened to be the best part of the game. I was taken off-guard by this Keeper nonsense, but that was my fault.

I feel like Robin Hood would be a little more difficult to put into a video game as there are very exact things the main character would need to be doing at many times during the game, taking the control away from the player

If it does away with third person, brings back rope arrows, and maintains its quirky/dark/cynical humor, I'll buy it.

Forced 3rd person would be a mistake on their part which is why I think that screen shot that I posted might not be legit or may be something that will be changed before the final release, it kills the spirit of the game as well as that stress of sitting in the shadows watching that guard get close to you hoping he doesn't hear you breath.

11 years agao I use to play Thief 1 demo and I really liked it so I got Thief Gold but then I was disapointed after the first level since the rest of the levels wasn't like the first. I did beat the game but I think the first level was the best since it was like the metal age and was like back in time. I remember I was 15 when I played this game. I played this game everyday but mostly just played the first level and saved certain areas of the first level. I remember I use to try to goto areas and try to get there without the guards finding me and then I would save it. Basicly I played around that level alot.
