Looking to get my first smartphone... - Page 2

True, and that was the plan for a while, but since I drive A LOT and don't have a phone, it'd be for emergency use as well.

Right now I am looking at the LG Rumor Touch through sprint. It has the mp3 support I was looking for, and sprint has a 29.99/mo plan for 200 minutes. Free nights and weekends, but no text. I'm still looking into a text plan.

I take it without a data plan, going online would be suicide to my wallet?

Pretty much, also if you're looking into a non smartphone with a touch screen make sure to check it out completely before you buy it because some of those touch screens get pretty crappy.

With the iPod and wireless combo you could also put a cheapo trackphone in there with like 100 minutes on it leave the battery out of the phone and you shouldn't even need to charge it more than like every 6 months, then you also have something in case you don't have service.

Virgin does have some great prices as long as you're in their area of service

Wait, that LG Optimus has unlimited text and data for 25/mo? that is FANTASTIC. The minutes aren't a problem. Hell, if I only had 60 I wouldn't use them all by the end of the month.

I just need to look into the phone a little more. I think I found it. Thanks.
