when i first booted up i got the desktop, installed the mother board drivers....everything in stalled.

it said the reboot, so i did

now when it restarts i get the "please select the boot device"

Seems like a misc. BIOS issue of sorts... perhaps even a corrupt hard drive. Not entirely sure though.

is your keyboard usb?
try a different usb port, back panel if possible (without a hub)

all else fails, try a ps2 keyboard/mouse

you may need to change the hard drive boot order in bios
or change the drive option for ide/ahci

some hardware specs would be helpful
