How to Install my Case's Front Fan?

Thread Starter
This is an odd question, but I have a case which allows for a front 80mm intake fan to be installed at the front of the case near the bottom.

This is my case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811154095

The fan must be installed by putting your hands into the case and going through the hard drive bay.

Which is fine, I can do that, but how is the front fan supposed to get any air to blow into the case? lol

The fan will basically sit behind the front panel, but the front panel is blocking any air from reaching the fan.

How the hell does this make sense?

Am I looking at this wrong? I dont see anyway to remove the bottom part of the front panel so air can get to the fan.

there are clips along the side of the case near the front on the inside.. hit all 3 on both sides and the front part pops off.

now for the fan thing... cut a hole out for it. then fan grill it.

OK I have to ask what was your budget when looking for a case?

And. If you take off both side panels look to the front bezel from the inside along the side there should be clips or screws that hold the front bezel to the metal Case. Undo those and pull of the front bezel. REMEMBER TO CHECK BOTH SIDES. You do not want to break clips or the plastic front bezel.

before you do anything see about send that case back and gettingone of the Xigmatek cases that the Egg has for the same price. That case you ordered is horrible for cable Management and airflow.

got the front panel off fine, but the problem is once I install the fan, the front panel will be blocking any outside air from reaching it. lol

This is strange, you would think since they gave people the ability to install a front intake fan, they would allow you to remove the bottom part of the front panel so air could actually reach the fan.

Well I already got a 212+ with duel fans on my cpu and a 90mm exhaust.

I only wanted to get this intake fan to work because my GPU is almost in perfect alignment with where the air would blow into the case. so the intake would blow directly onto the gpu

But whatever, not a big deal.

is there a vent hole on the bottom of the front panel?

or any knock outs on it?
not the prettiest way, but you can atleast get some airflow in over the hdd bays

Time to get a new case. I'd say I'm surprised they're still selling things like that, except that my first case was an Antec tomb because I didn't know any better. At least you spent less money than I did.

Trying to make this case work well will be like trying to make a silk purse from a sow's ear. If you can't afford a better case, save up until you can.

In the mean time, don't waste any money on that case you have.

Yes there is a venthole. I should have mentioned that earlier. It's a couple inches across.

But my tower is on a desk and the hole is covered up.

Its actually not a bad case at all. Its pretty sturdy and roomy. But the ventilation isn't very good.
