Do a guide on MineOS (in a virtual machine). Iv used it, its very good. Im going to try get my spare pc downstairs and run the server off it. Would 6gb of Ram and Athlon II x4 640 @ 3.2ghz be fine?
yeah, I think it's mainly ram and a connection speed dependent. So try to have a wired connection this time and it should be fine

Then unfortunately at the end of March I got antisocial, I stopped the server and.. well.. ya..

I might write a guide on running a server sometime
The problem is, nobody will care
The problem is, there is some good guides already out there.
Not to mention Bukkit has a tutorial on how to set it up.

On my personal server, I'm using old Socket 478 P4 parts and it works well.
So that should be more than enough.

RAM and your upload speed. Wired isn't really needed. I was running mine on wireless with some mates and it was just fine. But you have to have a good connection at home to do it. I have 15MB down / 5MB up. So that helps.

Why even bother with 0.75 mbps up? Probably wouldn't even support one person besides yourself without being ridiculously laggy.

http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/

Says you can run 2 people on your server.
