this is a screnshot of cpu-z and what my memory timings are at.. this is stock, and i know that u take the current number and mutiply it by 3 getting your actuall speed. so this set of 4 gig patriot memory is supposed to be running at 1600 and it is. or is it.. i have had people go both ways and i want some official opinions on my setup, and let me know if i can make the timing better or if it should be good the way it is

my rig is below if you have questions =D thanks everyone

It is not....800 would be 1600....your running at 1070

You are running at 1066Mhz 7-7-7-20, well below the spec of 1600Mhz 7-7-7. You need that RAM frequency to be at 800Mhz (DDR 1600Mhz) and voltage at 1.9V to run at 1600 7-7-7.

It looks like it is running ~1070.1Mhz.

EDIT: ^ xd_1771 did a great job answering your question.

You mutiply it by 2 not 3, so you are running 1066. DDR = Double data rate. You need to set the speed, the timing and the voltage in the bios.
EDIT

DDR is the first generation.
DDR2 is the second generation.
DDR3 is the third generation.
You still mutiply by 2.

ok thanks for the help all.. so i must completley enter everything to make it run at proper speeds.. im just worried i may mess up something on my Mobo lol
just set the timings to 7-7-7-20 and the clock to 800? is it that simple?

Asus m4a79T deluxe bios are kinda simple, just worried about frying something

also i must set the voltage as well?
Yes. You need to set the voltage too. Don't worry about frying something, because if there was a possiblity that you will fry something. We would have said it already. Most of us are experts on computers.

ok i did what was said, and heres the result haha

i set the DRAM freq. to 800 as instructed. but there was no where in the bios where i could change the clocks manually

and heres what happend in CPUZ

well after trying to set it in different ways.. i just get bluescreens after about 5 minutes of starting my machine.. when i am allowed in the OCN ventrilo ( i sent for the permission) i can be walked through possibly, i ahve a laptop i can get on while working on this machine

if someone can PM me, i have a ventrilo server and or MSN skype yahoo blah blah. i would like to talk to someone directly to get this memory issue fixed. pls PM me or add me on any of the messengers on my profile thanks =D
post #9 of 18
No, you set the DRAM frequency to 1600 and it will show up as 800 in CPU-Z
Make sure the timings are set to rated

i am sorry =( and ok ill have to try this again

ok i have one final question and i think it will work

i set everything that was supposed to but there are 2 options that arent show in CPUz to set, do i leave them on Auto or not
this is what i had it set on
CAS:7
RAS To Cas: 7
RAs Precharge 7
TRTP - Auto
TRRD: Auto
Tras : 20
TRC: 36
voltage 1.9v
Command 2T

so i left the autos alone (didn't know what to set the, to) and i loaded up windows, and i got the wonderful BSOD
