Quick couple of questions before buying

Thread Starter
So ive finally decided to grab my self a water loop after observing many of the build logs in this site.

Im looking at the following: (already have comp fittings)

1. What do you think?
2. What tubing best suits the reservior?
3. What additives will i need for my loop, ive been told that kill coils are a bad mix with the nickle plating in the block, hence the reason i went with biocide. Can any one help me on that one?

Of course, +rep to any one who helps.

Edit: apologies, still learning how to use the site.

1. The shopping list looks like you have good parts that wont disappoint, a variable speed 655 would be better but not by much.
2. The tubing you have is fine for the reservoir.
3. Killcoil would be best. Killcoils are used by many people with nickel blocks and I haven't heard of any negatives.

I guess it wont do any harm to grab both the kill coil and biocide.

thanks.

All the parts you have listed in the shopping cart are all top notch. In terms of the pump you can also consider the EK DCP 4.0 Pump. Its an awesome pump especially if your loop is not too big.You can be sure that EK makes quality watercooling parts as shown by their waterblocks. I would just use distilled water with some silver or even some ph nuke

Couldnt agree more!

the ammount of gunk, blocks and stains ive seen from coolants is ridiculous!

EK sure looks like a top notch brand, im actually considering cooling 1 or 2 GPU's, the next gen of ATI possibly, so id like to keep many opyions open.

Good list. I second the suggestion on the variable speed 655 pump, you have the option of slowing it down for quieter operation. Keep your liquid simple, all you need is distilled and silver IF you prep well and preclean your loop before use.

Need some more fittings, if I'm reading it right. Other than that, look into non-retail tubing. Same stuff is about $2 cheaper if you get it cut by them, rather than "retail". The PrimoFlex is cheaper yet and very good stuff also!

Im not to sure about the variable speed pump, seems like another marketing gimmick, i have no need for a speed control as im not to phased about the sound. Ill probably put the pump on a sponge anyway.

Yer, ive already got 6 shinning silver Bitspower comp fittings.

Ive heard that Primochill tubing is actually more of a dark purple rather then a blue.

Never realized that the retail packs were cheaper...doesnt make to much sense to me, but thanks for pointing it out!
