The EVGA GTX 580 DC is a non-reference card.

I think it's awesome and will compare nicely to MSI Lightning and Asus DCU II non-reference cards.

To be honest it will be a buyer choice and any one of them is a great card for that extra cooling for higher over clocks than reference.

When choosing anyone of these three, it will depend on those with well ventilated towers. Where they don't mind the heat dumping into the case as opposed to the non-reference cards where the hot air exhaust gets blown out the back air flow bracket outside the case.

All three companies make great mother board and video card products. Non-reference and reference.

My vote went to the lightning only because it has been a proven good overclocker.

I haven't heard of this new EVGA card before but if you like the look of the cooler and it performs well, there's no reason not to get it

The 460 2Win has 3 fans, the DS has 2. The DS stands for "Double Shot", which refers to the 2 fans.

Sadly, this is incorrect.

Yes its the same.

So it is a GTX580SC with a different cooling option. My guess is it was made for those that do not like the sound the external exhaust reference cards make under load, but do not want to water cool.

While not as exciting as a non-reference card, it is always nice to have options.

I saw a thread about this last week but I cant remember where. I remember hearing the same thing in that it is just a different cooler on there.

Lightning will ultimantly be a better solution IMO, especially for sub zero

if you are just getting it to game, save your money and grab a vinilla.

The cooler won,t make a night and day diff

Not sure where evga is going with this card but they will need more than a cool looking cooler to compete with a Lightning series that for all intent purposes have dominated the last two generations of world records. There is no reasofor me to beleive a finacially challanged company such a eVGA can compete in the top tier enthusisat level GPU solutions.
