*EDIT*

Oh, I see PSU Guru Phaedrus did a review on it.

http://hardwareaware.com/review/xarmor-u9bl/

Doesn't look too bad. 8/10 for the review.
There has been many various instances in which the LEDs in the Xarmor boards became dysfunctional and also many complaints about the build quality (wriststrap snapping):
http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?1...Bites-The-Dust

I'm not sure whether if Xarmor has fixed these problems with their new batches or not but even then, their prices are in the same range if not cheaper than many other much more reputable brands. Take a look at their website.. would you really want to splurge out $130 on a keyboard from a company that looks as sketchy as that?

iOne have discontinued the XArmor series due to the number of manufacturing problems with the soldering connections. Razers' BlackWidow's are now being manufactured by iOne.

Well, I guess another one bites the dust. I was hoping Deck would get some stiff competition and it would drive the prices of illuminated mechanical keyboards down a bit. The one thing I don't like about Deck is the placement of the FN and Right ALT key. Otherwise it's a pretty good board though not perfect. It also has backlight bleeding on the keys. If the OP can live with the key placements of the Deck and the high price then there is no other choice for illuminated mechanical keyboards except for Deck.

Is there some kind of official link regarding this piece of news (both pieces of news really) ?
Ha I totally didn't know about this news. I changed my mind in the very last-minute that I wanted a DAS professional (same MX blues) instead, and it seems like it was the right decision.

Even though this keyboard is sold out on Newegg, but still there at:
http://www.buy.com/prod/xarmor-xarmo...217306033.html

I think this is the cheapest you can get? Makes me wonder if the remaining stock will get premium price...

Considering the source (a new member with one post), I'm a bit wary to believe the news, but it certainly makes sense with regards to what's been going on with the XArmor website for months... Anyway I'm like you, I'm getting a Das, except I'm getting the Silent one. Also I don't care for backlighting, it was pretty on my XArmor but I never used it

This DAS Professional is the very first mechanical that I'm getting so I can't really speak for Razors...

But from what I've read on this forum, Razor is not best known for their quality..but I also understand that you want a back-lit so might as well give it a try.

You really should check out some Youtube videos and see them in action. You get to hear the MX switches too.

I hope this helps

I talked with the only Canadian retailer (http://www.hltechnology.com) of the Xarmor (I was trying to purchase one myself), and about a week before I was going to buy one, it went OOS. As I emailed them, they stated it had been discontinued due to previously stated reasons. iOne though itself however, I'm sure is still in operation producing products, just not the Xarmor or at least the current iteration. Maybe they will generate a new line of backlit mechanicals.
