Sorry to tell you this, but this is your motherboard, you would have to upgrade your motherboard to have a Marvel 9182 or the motherboard with Intel based SATAIII ports, to get the most out of your Vertex 3.

You have Marvel chipset 9128, confusing numbers I know, but the most you will get is a peak of 300 MB/s Read/Write on the SATAIII ports. 300 MB/s is quite a bit and you don't really need it, but you have paid for it and its frustrating.

Alternatively you could pick up a SATAIII raid controller just try to avoid the Marvel 9128 versions as they are sold as RAID controllers too.

The only other possibility I can think of is maybe the SATA cable is not a 6gb/s cable. I don't have your mobo. Good luck man

What are you talking about? He is using the P67 chipset... The best onboard AHCI/RAID controller out there at the moment. I'm on the same and I'm getting 1GB/s speeds.

The Marvel 9128 is available on 890FX boards, x58 boards, you name it. According to the specs I just read on his motherboard thats the chipset controlling the SATAIII ports.

You don't have to believe me, I was just trying to help.

The 1155 motherboards with the Intel SATAIII ports are the ones known for their awesome speeds.
