UD-9 Ram Issue - Page 3

Then you mean 2000Mhz memory? If so, that's the problem, please try the above or give me your full settings and I'll advise back.

XMP for 2000Mhz is not going to work easily for a few reasons, once being that XMP was designed before your CPU, and another 2000Mhz is not a plug and play thing, you need to find the right amount of Uncore and the right amount of QPI/Vtt per your individual CPU.

Trust me! Give me your full exact settings in the above template and I'll advise back, if you are using auto write auto, if you are using XMP write XMP, ect.

Thanks for the help, I have everything at stock so there is no point filling the template in

Thanks all that tried to help, in the end it was bent pins

So I ask, is it possible to put the waterblock to tight on the cpu?

Because it seems like thats the only way it could have happened?

Anyways my friend helped me and we fixed it, he use his iphone and a pin!

At first it was harsh we tried everything to try to fix it, we tried my old cpu and only 4GB usable. So then we were really confused because before that we had no problem it wasent until the new cpu(990x) that we had a problem.

Then we were going crazy tring to figrue it out when i noticed the bent pins, it was very hard to notice and i was sure they werent bent because my mate said it wouldent be. turns out the i7 pins are alot more britle then older cpu pins i think?

Anyways thanks and +rep!

Thanks, Sir Overkill

I just saw this thread and was going to mention bent pins. When you swapped the CPUs, I'm sure thats when it happened. This happened to me with my I7 860 and it drove me up the wall. More so when you have a waterblock installed, you usually don't want to remove it, LOL. I've been using the little socket cover now every time I take out a CPU. Glad to hear you got it fixed.
