BFBC2 randomly crashes?

So im playing BFBC2 for the first time (and im not that impressed) and all of a sudden BOOM it freezes up and i need to power cycle. OK, fine first time probobly a bug so i start playing AGAIN and same thing, after about 10m or soit just freezes and when i get back into windows i dont get an error report so i know my OC is stable. Are there any tricks i need to do to stop it from crashing? I have the steam version.

Happens sometimes because of video card's oc. How did you test your clocks on the card for stability. Then again, BFBC2 has many problems like this, but most pertain to dual cards or dual monitors. If it's freezing up, believe it or not, BFBC2 is rougher on parts than most stress tests could ever be..... so while you are pretty sure your oc is stable, it IS possible it needs just a touch more vcore for cpu or card.

Close Afterburner, Trixx, GPU-Z, or whatever other GPU monitoring program you have open.

After doing what the others have recommended, set your sound to 16-bit 48000Hz in order to avoid another problem - a looping second or two of sound repitition followed by a crash to desktop amid pure colors requiring a restart.

Also attempt to defragment the disk cache via Steam.

Well game takes alot out of pc to work, if gpu back to stock and ram and cpu are overclocked up the volts to it. and check, I got my pc folding stable. so 1.38 volts to i7 930 cpu can run 1.275 linx 24 hours but not folding. and gpu needed a few bumps to get stable in folding too. bc2 takes alot out of a pc and unstable = crash. take out the 275 out of pc too see if power is hitting you up making u lock up.

A compendium of fixes:
http://www.gamingnewslink.com/2010/0...-steam-errors/

The only other thing I know to help would be to set the renderaheadlimit in the settings.ini file (in Documents\\BFBC2) to one below however many cores one has - in your case, 3.
