Dual core system has 1 slow core - Page 2

run CPUstabTest, which you can find easily for free online. It will put your core under full load. Or Prime 95, or intel burn test

Core (1) was more of a transition CPU from Pentium M to Core 2, and performs between the two. After Netburst had failed to deliver for so long, Intel went back to work with the Pentium III, and came up with the Pentium M for the mobile market. That evolved into the Core Solo and Core Duo, and then it's successor, the Core 2 Duo came out on the desktop (and also mobile market). In short, it's the Core 2 Duo's successor and has less performance. I think it sits around Athlon 64/X2 performance, give or take.

64 Bit Support. Core was enhanced Pentium M, while Core2 used a next generation microarchitechture, which was 64 bit.

The 798MHz speed is your speed of RAM, which can be rounded up to 800MHz. The Processor speed is fine.

Its not the speed of RAM. If it did report RAM speed, for 800MHz RAM it would display 400MHz.

Is a laptop CPU upgrade user friendly like a RAM upgrade, or does it require alot of disassembly?

You are most likely going to have to take the whole thing apart to get to the CPU
