Formula JiggaWatts Race Season (June-August) - Page 3

I'm sure just about everyone will have a week or two they'll miss and end up missing a pole position, lap, or first off the line. Will make it very interesting. Plenty of ways earn points to make up during the season.

There will be classes for higher end GPUs and lower end GPUs. Plus there's Aquamark3 that's a little more CPU then GPU to help even out the GPU field a bit.

Any dual card classes, or will dual cards be allowed thus wiping the floor

I might pick up a 275, but I hear those are only great at 3dm1, and my 580(s) will be better in 3dm3 and 3dm5

Yep, 275's will own 580's in 3DMark01. You'll also need a socket 775 CPU or Sandy Bridge for that too.

The first two days of the competition are our Pole Position entries. Here you have a chance for points for being "First off the Line" with a 'full set' of submissions for each benchmark. The fastest submissions will win the Pole Position for more points.

As Pole Position's 48 hour period ends, the race laps begin. When a Lap Flag is posted, the leaderboard is updated. You will then get points for your overall placement during that lap. Laps Flags will be posted randomly and will be no shorter then 2 days and no longer then a week. So there could be anywhere from ~4-14 laps each month.

At the end of the race when the Checkered Flag is posted, the points for over all ranking will be based on the level of competition(# of players) for that hardware class. Thus, playing a class with fewer players can make it easier to maintain points during the laps, but it will limit your Checkered flag points.

Whats the reasoning behind the x48 sb limitation, if SB is already in a class of its own?

The overclock is all in the luck of getting a good chip, at least this way pretty much anyone can compete & stand a chance. You can use the bclk to go over 4.8Ghz, so some tweaking will still be needed to take the lead.
