Formula JiggaWatts Race Season (June-August) - Page 4

I wouldn't recommend anyone raise their blk too much, its tied directly to everything. If you have a good enough board you might hit 107ish, but again its all about the board it doesn't require any skill since you aren't pushing anything but your board.

Also aren't all chips just pure luck? No two chips will reach the same clocks, even if you're using LN2/DICE.

I know sandy is a lot easier to overclock than the other chips, but can't you separate them based on clocks or cooling I would assume you'd do the same for the other archs.

I don't even have a great chip mine will only do around 5.2/5.3 before the voltage gets a bit crazy it just seems wrong to limit a oc competition.

Like a sub 5 class, a 5 to 5.4 class and a 5.4+ class? I'd like to see what peoples systems can do

Classes aren't based on cpu. They are based on gpu's and there will be a few classes. All cpu's will run against each other and to make it fair, the SB chips are limited to a 48x multi. Even at 48x, which should be good for a little over 5ghz, a SB chip can outscore just about anything other than some cpu's runnig sub zero and it'll still be a challenge for them.

QFT .. a 5.7ghz E8xxx cpu doesnt have squat on a 4.8-5ghz SB for 3D benching or much else for that matter

I was under the impression that running your pci lanes over 100MHz typically wasn't a good thing, doesn't it cause issues past 101 or 103?

The first set of benchmarks they have up are all single threaded, if SB is limited to 4.8GHz~ than shouldn't 1366 be limited to about 5.3Ghz since they'd be about even at that point?

I mean a 920 or 980 on LN2 at 5.8 or more is going to destroy a SB chip at 4.8, plus 1366 has a PCI lane advantage... I just think this could have been thought out a bit better.

well if were keeping things fair with 48 multi there is there going to be a 8 thread max for aquamark or is giving 980s an unfair advantage diffrent????????

AM3 is singled threaded AFAIK, until they start using vantage type benchmarks that will use all 12 threads that won't be an advantage.

Alt-Tab out and set affinity for all cores and Aquamark suddenly becomes a multithreaded CPU benchmark

am3 is most dependent upon thread count even more so than vantage

It uses about 40% of my quad, so I guess it is running two threads but it can't max both out (something similar happens in wow).

Maybe I'm doing it wrong?
