That low clock thing might be in there just to mix things up or give any platform a shot at scoring well in one of the benches. Who actually tests to see how slow they can run their system?

As long as there isn't anything fishy about it then it's all good

Red or Yellow, we don't discriminate because of dodgy clockgens and floaty ht links.

I guess there will be no "all out" winner that takes all the classes then... Unless someone here has a Gulftown they can bring to 6GHz+ with LN2... Oh wait.. this is OCN; I'm sure there are a few of you that fit that category.

Lowest Clock Speed -> I really don't understand this one well... You want to see how much I can slow my chip? Again; AMD systems that have CnQ will go as low as 800MHz. I just don't see the point of this race.

Maximum Base/FSB Speed -> S775 should dominate here; other than that, AMD will take it again since the newer Intel platforms are bclck limited to a max of 260ish for X58 (and that was one guy with a GA-X58-OC and some highly binned CPUs)

Maximum Memory Clock: X58 or SB will take this.

So the question is... Will there be a single winner for the whole thing? Or can we compete only in the categories where we have a chance? I am sure I can try and bring the pain on the Max CPU Clocks, Min CPU Clocks and Max FSB, but Max Memory Clock will not be kind to my 955 and its week IMC that won't go past 1800MHz.
Almost forgot I do have a 7Ghz celly D, might have to dig it out for this. Won't do well in the memory clock dept. though...

Only one first off line and FTW with the itching trigger finger.

Does that mean that I can do a full submission with an intel system, and then do a full submission with an AMD system at a later date?
Yes, but only one system can be scored for points. If you enter a new system the old results will be removed.

Yes, a total of 200 points max. You are competing in all categories.

EDIT: Oh yeah and FTW isn't going to be taking home the 'cup'....

Yeah.. we know, he's not running SB

*sad irony that a air/water CPU will win a pot

I doubt it. With the baseclock limit on SB it wont win max fsb or dram. AMD should take low clock and if you guys let SB win max cpu-z then I will quit

It is quite well balanced, tough choice of platforms.

The way I see it is a couple of platforms may be able to take 2 categorys but none will take all 4

AMD AM3 'could ' perhaps take 3 if anyone has a setup that can do 2500Mhz+ ram speeds

One system isn't going to win the 'trophy'. Three months worth of hard work will.

Also, 2 Keyboards, 2 Hoodies, $100 will be given away for August competitors.

Sorry I haven't made it to the final update for July. Will be getting to it tonight.

You should add the August comp link to OP. And what happened to July prizes?
