Hyperthreading?

Does hyperthreading have much use in Gaming? Does it give a huge performance boost? Because I read some where that Hyperthreading has little or no use in Gaming, is that true? Thanks

Current games have no/poor multithreaded support. So no, gaming will not benefit that much from hyperthreading. Other multithreaded applications like NLEs will benefit greatly.

But it all comes down to how well that application suppots multiple threads.

I've been told that HT doesn't do anything for gaming unless the game utilizes it. Though I'm not sure what games do.
