RAM Question. (Opinion)

Thread Starter
Ok, I know this isn't the right place to ask, but there isn't a RAM section, so I decided to ask here.

I bought a mobo/cpu/ram combo for $70 and it came with 2GB 800MHz ram. Before I bought that, I bought 2 GB of 677MHz ram for $40. I'm thinking of selling it for $30.

Question:
Should I sell it for $30, or just stick it into my new board? (System listed below)

It's really a matter of 4GB 677MHz, or $30 + 2GB 800MHz? I overclock a tiny bit so it'll be more like 4GB 710MHz or 2GB 850MHz.

This is an older system so I do not plan any any further upgrades on this guy so 2GB extra memory will help.

ALL OPINIONS WELCOME!!

Personally I would have kept and used both of the sticks. So, 4GB 710MHz.
But then again, if you use this PC just for gaming, extra 2GB probably wont help much along with the GPU you are currently using.
So, my suggestion is, if you are in need of cash for something then sell it. If not then keep it.

Moved to AMD memory threads merged also
Best you run the two DIMMs of 2x2GB rather than the single DIMM of 2GB. The dual channel and amount of extra RAM will benefit you way more than a 133Mhz speed increase.

In almost all circumstances I would say to keep the RAM. It will save you from spending time upgrading in the future and all of the time needed to sell the buggers in the first place.

Of course, if you're in need of $30 with relative urgency I'd say go right ahead and sell them, but beyond that you will be happy to have the extra memory in your system.
