Yes, you use it for the OS and any other main Programs. You put documents on a separate drive. You may leave the page file on the SSD. There isnt much to set for gaming, besides before you install the OS make sure in the BIOS it is set to AHCI mode. @ question3 thats is totally false and yes the are fine for gaming.

I was on the fence for awhile with the ssd thing. I saw one on sale at newegg and gave it a go. What a difference! Using it for a boot disk for windows and other apps like firefox. Am seriously considering getting another for my steam drive! You will love it!!!!!

1. Leave the page file on the SSD

2. Install games and Steam to a HDD. Then use SteamMover to move games, and Steam games on and off the SSD

3. SSDs are fine with large files! But so are HDDs!
But SSD show most gains in smaller files! So maybe that's what that was all about

SteamMover is in my Sig, under SSD App

"Trim" is a command that Windows 7 sends to the SSD to tell it to delete files that you have deleted!
On a HDD.When you delete a file, the OS just marks it deleted! Then data is just written over it!
But with a SSD, the data has to be deleted first. Before that part of the drive can have data written to it again! So the "trim" command!

Without Trim, once all the blocks on the SSD have been written to once. Any more writes would be slower because the drive would have to delete then write from now on!
But with "Trim" the blocks would already be clean

1: Audio/Video or Antivirus? Elaborate.

2: Not necessarily.

I was told to disable indexing on SSD's.

I have 6 C300's in a raid strip and have the indexing turned off.

Have had no problems with them.

Try it, You'll like it.

SSDs are pointless for gaming if you play games like sc2 and lfd2. Because you always have to end up waiting for people with slow pcs anyways ;[

This is not about internet lagg.

This is about quiker boot-up and faster response when opening programs.

Much faster all around PC preformance.
