AMD Phenom II X6 1075T Help needed!

Thread Starter
Ok, so I am a software guy, totally not a hardware guy.

Just installed and built a new machine with the AMD Phenom II X6 1075T
with a M4N68TM-V2 Motherboard.

I am able to open up the 6 cores, but cannot for the life of me get the right bios settings to get the thing to run at 4GHZ, like I know it can.

This print screen shows my reset 1075T at 800mHz x4.0 I can get it to change to the X15.0 but am having trouble going beyond the 3GHZ the normal 1075T will go past.

What do I need to change in my Bios to get 4 GHZ?

Thanks!

You will need around 1.44V on the CPU for 4.0GHz, but more importantly, try overclocking your Northbridge too, that should give you a big performance jump.... The average for Northbridge overclock on OCN is around 3000MHz You should be able to do that at about 1.37V on CPU-NB

Good advice.

Hit that 3000 MHz range!!!!

Your cpu is going into cool and quiet mode, that down clocks the CPU to save power and keeps it cool.

To stop it you need to turn it off in bios.

To overclock these CPU's you need to use a combination of the HTT/CPU Frequency/FSB also NB voltage and CPU voltage.

So for 4.GHz your looking at increasing the CPU frequency/FSB/HTT to 285MHz + on a Multi of x14
Or 266MHz on a muti of 15x

I will try those settings.

I will try to get a screen shot of my Bios and maybe you can tell me what I need to change? Thanks guys!

No worries buddy.

another thing to remember is that all hardware is different, so what may work for someone else may not work for you.

Change to this and got the results in the pictures

The CPU/NB only allows me to have 4x to 10x factors not by volts.

Board has 4-phase power
Don't expect to be able to run 4Ghz and it work properly, the VRMs will overheat causing the board to throttle way too often; instead of a 4Ghz overclock, you'll have a 4Ghz ov--oh wait, 2.8Ghz--okay back to 4Ghz--2.8Ghz--what is this, my CPU temps aren't even overheating!? (VRMs are)

6-core 125W Thuban ideally wants a 6+2 - 8+2 phase power motherboard for safest and best OC experience

What about anything higher than the 3 GHZ? Say 3.6?
