Will they EVER fix the multi monitor flickering? - Page 2

I get flickering trouble on a single monitor with crossfired 6870s on any CCC version I've tried. 11.5 fails completely at life for me, even though the monitor is on a DVI port.

Could be similar issue, or could be unrelated..

Either way these drivers need to be stepped up!! I built this pc to game on and I bloody can't!

I agree, come on AMD, step it up a notch will you? I put a second display on my mate's 5770 and it was flicker city. I forget which CC he was using, but I ended up with it, Nvidia doesn't have this issue (But I also agree Nvidia has had other issues), and this is a major reason preventing me from buying AMD's otherwise excellent GPUs.

Would I be correct in saying it seems like the technology has overtaken the programming ability? or is this really just a case of not enough effort being put in?

Multidisplay AMD = fail.
I had 4 screens connected to my 5970's.. every two day i will be installing/uninstall drivers. I got bored and took a screen to the office, sent a screen home and one is in stock lol.

Now i'm using one screen crossfired enabled always + new drivers.
My next upgrade will probably bigger resolution screen.

I think AMD should sit down and figure what's wrong with multi-screen thing, the problem is like only 10% of the people who buy graphic cards own more then 1 screen & that's why they are not paying any attention to it.

If my 6870s could do even this reliably, I would be happy. I mean hooking the TV up as a second screen is nice, and the other PC doesn't struggle with it, but this pc can't even function AT ALL on the 11.5 drivers~!!

No.

It's a case of stubborn use of lower idle mem clocks to prevent a slightly higher idle power usage.

Well, it'd be nice if CCC gave us an option on setting idle clocks so both single and multi monitor users can have what they want. How hard is that really?

so is there a way to force the 6870s to idle higher and see if that fixes anything, or can we only play around with the max capable clock rates?

Using Afterburner and setting idle clocks manually helped IIRC. Disabling ULPS in the registry also did the trick. But I stopped using Afterburner awhile ago after I sold one card.

I've never experienced this with 3 monitors, 11.4, 11.5, 11.5b, and a flashed and overclocked 6950.

Unless I manage to blink every time it happens
