Hello... well i have one 5850 right now.I was planning to sell it and get two 6850s or two 6870s.

But i dont know... Should I sell my 5850 and buy the 6xxx Series??

How do 5850s Scale and run on Crossfire with the newest drivers??

I'll appreciate it a lot! Thanks!

Hello!

I've been x-firing 5850s for at least a month now. So far I really like it. I literally don't drop below 90 FPS in BC2 completely maxed out, it's amazing. The heat was an issue with recent ambient temps, but after creating a fan profile I fixed that.

Only thing I don't like so far is a lot of "unpopular" games don't scale well and you get poor performance, even less than you'd have with one card.

Do you have the option of not crossfiring at all and upgrading to a single card?

Crossfire...it's really not worth the pain.

6xxx cards do scale much better, but scaling on the 5xxx crossfire really isn't that bad. In games I've seen about a ~170% FPS increase.

Unless you are running larger resolutions than 1920x1200, stick with buying another 5850 for crossfire and overclock them. You can wait till the end of this year when the new series of cards come out from AMD and nvidia which will prove a much more worth while upgrade.
