The 2gb is not the same as this one. The pcs+ is based on a custom pcb. This 1gb hd6950 card is slapped on a stock hd6870 pcb... while drawing 30-40w extra. Since the hd6870 has voltage control this should also... but someone still needs to test for compatibility.

Here are the pcb differences b/w the 1gb and 2gb cards. The 1gb is just a stock hd6870 slightly tweaked.

You have to remember the 2GB version can unlock to the 6970, so it's more in the high single digit range. Not to mention it will provide a lot more grunt in multi-monitor and high res setups.

Then again, at this price it would be hard to justify the additional cost.

You are saving 75-80 dollars by getting the 1GB, that makes up for the difference by a significant margin.

Whis is exactly what I said in my post. Are you trying to fish for an argument?

That's what I thought too, I only game on single monitor 1080p so this 2gb isn't necessary.

According to the guy who unlocked this 6950, his average fps increase in crysis is only 1 fps... Is it worth the try to unlock this one?
