[MaximumPc] Windows 7 Infection Rates 5 Times Lower Than XP - Page 4

Not too surprising. Windows XP still has over %5 higher usage and virus creators are very framiliar with its weaknesses. No doubt Win 7 has better security features but I expect this rate to increase in the future.

Me neither. I still get a lot of virus jobs because many of my customers are still on XP, but they are becoming less and less.

EDIT: And not only do you see less viruses on W7 computers, but they are easier to remove as well. In all the W7 infections I have seen I have only gotten 1 TDL3 rootkit and the rest were all cake. XP on the other hand often gets rootkits to set up encrypted sectors so other viruses can set up shop in them, and since they are encrypted ordinary virus scanners just pass right over them.

I have switched all my computers over to Windows 7 and it has been a year now and none of them have a virus.

May have been the fact that since you don't run a multi-billion dollar company like Microsoft, your opinion is laughable and uneducated when you imply that Windows 7 wasn't a huge innovation and step up from XP, or that the company isn't capable of such a thing, which they obviously are.

He was implying that Microsoft does not innovate as a whole. You're saying any opinion I have on the improvements brought about by 7 is laughable and uneducated because I don't run a billion dollar company?

And what, you run one do you? Your opinion is just as laughable, since you're not Bill Gates yourself either Mr Ignoramus, but ok. Give us your educated wisdom and tell us what were some of the innovations absent from Vista at least, besides TRIM support and a shiny UI.

Mainly the fact that People weren't innovative and installed it on their Un-innovating Pentium 4 Netbursts.

These same people who called themselves computer experts, roaming around forums just like this, complaining about how their superoverclocked Pentium 4's were performing no better than Pentium 3's would on Vista.

While me, I had a completely different experience, first try of a firstgen Core 2 Duo on Vista. It was a match made in heaven.

I think he's saying that Microsoft's innovation is self-evident considering that they BECAME a multi-billion dollar corporation. Windows created the modern PC, like it or not...

Yeah, that's what the original comment meant. But the guy saying you need to run a billion dollar company to comment on innovation is
