And? Kotick has a multi-billion dollar company, but it doesn't mean he's any more entitled to say "This company copied this from here" than I am, does it?

The modern PC was created by the IBM PC (MS-DOS/PC-DOS and 8088) and the Apple, actually.
Windows was the most popular after 95 iirc, but from the start its been copy from other OS' mostly. (Eg. App Store in Win8? Already in OS X and Linux.)

Hell, MS-DOS was written by someone else and just bought by MS. (QDOS)

I ran Vista on an Athlon XP 2600+ (Single core), an 80GB Seagate 7200.7, 6800GS (Later transitioned to an x1600Pro) and 1GB DDR-400 RAM.

It ran fine without a SP, faster than XP did.

Not to mention, if I had 4 of my CPUs and overclocked them to 3Ghz (Need golden chips), it'd only be a tad slower than your rig you used Vista on...As it is, I had a far slower HDD, one quarter the amount of RAM, and less than a quarter of the CPU, you must seriously have done something wrong.

1) The Phenom II is equal performance to the Core 2 Quads, not Phenom I, Phenom I was slower by a decent amount and had the TLB bug and lack of OCability to boot, I remember because I waited a long time for Phenom I and ended up getting a Core 2 Duo instead.
2) Like I said, you must have done something wrong, possibly nVidia drivers. (They sucked for a year or so on Vista)

Ever since I became smart with computers, I've never had any virus at all, XP, Vista, 7 or Linux.

He said they visited dodgy sites, they tend to leave a lot of crap behind in the browser's cache. Private Browsing you can go on the dodgiest sites and have a way lower chance of infection through your browser.

Exactly this.

What, does that piss you off? It's still supported and will be for a while, get over it (I run Windows 2000 Pro on my other ancient PC and even that's still getting updates). See my sig for when I'll upgrade and what to, when I do, I'll happily get W7 on it.

Of the 20-something times I got a BSOD in Vista, around 5 of them were Nvidia-related. If you didn't run into problems with Vista, you didn't use it long enough. If all you used your Vista installation for was browsing the web and office work (like I did on my Vista pre-installed laptop), Vista is fine, anything beyond that and it screws something up all the time. Like I said, I've used XP and Windows 7 RC on it afterwards as well and it never had stability issues with either of those, as well as Ubuntu 9.04 which ran fine.

Also, performance-wise the only difference between the Phenom I B3s and Phenom IIs is slightly better IMCs and higher HTT/CPU clock rates. Clock for clock, Phenom I B3 is almost the same as a Phenom II in pretty much everything.

Agreed. AV is only needed if you have no idea what you download, or where it's from and if it's reliable/safe.

I ran Vista from RC to SP2, I had 2 nVidia related BSODs, the rest were from my overclocking, no errors.

And I was using it for much more than web browsing and office work, I was encoding music (Took ages) and gaming on it, not sure what else I was doing but I was gaming on a Cyrix PR150 which I had XP installed on it (The CPU was well and truly too old for XP), let alone an Athlon XP and Windows Vista.
