NB/CPU Voltage Question

Thread Starter
Hey guys, just wondering what kind of voltage is required to get a 3 GHz NB. I've got it at 1.4v (looking stable...still testing) what have other people gotten?

aida64 says 1.175v for 2932 mhz 24/7 stable but CnQ may affect it?

hmm interesting I don't think mine is stable at 1.35v so thats why i raised it. CPU is running 4 GHz @ 1.45v this seems reasonable since its a 1100T.

There is no way you are getting nb clock at 37xx at 1.45v. Rarely people got nb above 3000mhz. Post some pictures if you truly get it..

I have had it stable at 2750 MHz with about 1.3 volts, I never could manage 3000 MHz stable (although I didn't try too hard) I don't like the extra heat it pumps into the CPU so I keep it around 2600 MHz with 1.25 volts.

I am not calling you a lier but how in the hell did you get that so high???? I never got past 3000 with this chip or any other for that mater so I am just curious on what you did to get there?
I just selected it in bios
(foxconn destroyer motherboard w/ g18 bios)
the bios has a cpu-nb adjustment i.e. auto/2000/2200/2400 etc, with 200 mhz increments all the way up to around 5600 i think.

I set it to 2200 @ 1.45v (or 1.32 i cant remember) for my 24/7 OC,
which when including the FSB overclock of 270 gives me a little shy of 3000mhz.

You should note that using generic 800 ddr2 will limit the throughput in benches-which is why the lowest bars on the maxxmem screeny show some feeble output

I could get some faster ram but even the fastest ddr2 will force me to lower the fsb to get a 1:1,not worth it!
DDR2 and this mobo are both old and not worth throwing any more money at when IB and BD are just around the corner.

I understand the crosshair IV has a similar bios option, and a few other mobo's.
Truth be told there is a guy around here called maximous who was benching some cold stuff and has a cpu-z of about 5ghz cpu-nb!

It doesnt matter how fast you can get your cpu-nb if the ram can't take advantage of it.
no point in having a bugatti veyron and having it mated up to a tractor gearbox!
