Potential WC Noob, Need Help.

Thread Starter
So I plan to start out with a CPU only loop and expand further down the road. The case I will be using is a 800D and it is going to be for a Sandy Bridge build.

I'm keen on the following options.
MCP355+XSPC top
RX360 Radiator
Which CPU Block? EK Supreme HF? (but which one?)
Bitspower Water Tank Z-Multi 250 Inline Reservoir
White tubing & distilled water
CPU only would be a total of 8 Fittings & Compression Fittings right?

A couple more questions.
Is it both PT nuke and kill coil or is it one or the other?
How many 120mm fans will I need for the 800D and and the Radiator?
What kind of size & brand tubing should I get and how about compression fittings?
I heard about using 7/16 tubing over 1/2 fittings was it, does this matter if you are using compression fittings?
Am I missing something?

Thank you and pardon me for my very noob questions.

I use PT Nuke AND a kill coil.
Size of tubing will matter when using compression fittings because you need to match the tubing to the fitting.

My 1/2 cents worth...lol

If you need any help after Jug's guide, I have a WC Q+A thread in my sig that I manage, it's also a guide.

But to answer you questions,

MCP355+XSPC top - Good, the 355 is quite loud though.
RX360 Radiator - Excellent choice, you can only fit push or pull with that in the 800D comfortably, although I've seen a few instances of Push/pull and RX360 in a 800D, IIRC, they could not remove their RAM without tearing apart their loop.
Which CPU Block? EK Supreme HF? (but which one?) - EK S.HF is good, one of the best, I assume which one is which HF, well, whichever you like the look of the best, IMO, the Nickel one looks amazing in the 800D. There's better performing blocks however, only by a slight margin.
Bitspower Water Tank Z-Multi 250 Inline Reservoir - That's fine.
White tubing & distilled water - All good.
CPU only would be a total of 8 Fittings & Compression Fittings right? - Yep, two on each component.

A couple more questions.
Is it both PT nuke and kill coil or is it one or the other? - One or the other, I would choose a silver kill coil because it's lower maintenance IMO.
How many 120mm fans will I need for the 800D and and the Radiator? - 3x120MM fans on the RX360. You can buy more to fill out fan slots in other parts of your case to match them, but it's not required.
What kind of size & brand tubing should I get and how about compression fittings? - PrimoChill and Tygon have good tubing. I would get 1/2 ID and 3/4 OD compressions and hose.
I heard about using 7/16 tubing over 1/2 fittings was it, does this matter if you are using compression fittings? - Yes, 7/16'ths over 1/2 is only for barbs, with compressions you need to have the same tubing dimensions and for the fittings.
Am I missing something? - Not really, feel free to ask more questions, that's what we're here for

Which 1/2 ID 3/4 OD Compression Fittings should i buy? Is there any difference between these besides price?

These. I'm not sure if they will fit side by side on the EK S.HF. I think they do, might want to look intp it though.

If space is an issue get the mcp355, other than that I'd choose mcp655 (actually I'm getting 2 )

The only difference between these two is that one has a rotary extension. The lower price is just the fitting itself.

Bitspower Water Tank Z-Multi 250 Inline Reservoir
White tubing & distilled water
CPU only would be a total of 8 Fittings & Compression Fittings right? - That really depends. Your EK reservoir offers additional port options, but otherwise only 8 are needed at a minimum.

A couple more questions.
Is it both PT nuke and kill coil or is it one or the other? - You can use first. There shouldn't be any nasty chemical reactions.
How many 120mm fans will I need for the 800D and and the Radiator?
What kind of size & brand tubing should I get and how about compression fittings? - On a budget, it would be Masterkleer. Without a budget would be Tygon. Many people also like using Primoflex for their different colors. For compression fittings, people tend to prefer Bitspower nowadays it seems.
I heard about using 7/16 tubing over 1/2 fittings was it, does this matter if you are using compression fittings? - I do not advise using anything other than the specified tubing size. Compression fittings work by screwing a compression ring over the tubing to secure it. A 7/16" tubing may be too thin and leaks may develop. It is safe to use 7/16" tubing on normal barbs.
Am I missing something?

Thank you and pardon me for my very noob questions.
