I was just trying to add up lol. Yeah the lack of a card slot is pretty disappointing. I hope the next Nexus will give LG or Motorola a chance this time to make one.

You should be able to get a vibrant on titer budget if you keep an eye out. I just bought mine a week ago for under your max.

I'd rather if they stayed with HTC.... they make the nicest phones

HTC already had its opportunity on the famous Nexus One, so I was just thinking other major OEM's could get their turn. Kinda like a loop of HTC > Samsung > Motorola > LG > etc. for each major Nexus, for fairness.

Yeah.... I want my next phone to be a nexus though and if it isn't a HTC its a no go currently (I sound like a fanboy don't I? ), their build quality hasn't been matched by any other manufacturer imo

All I'm saying is I'd rather the nexuses to be the best of the best but I can't be picky eh?

I won't argue with HTC having the best-designed phones, but IMO Motorola also does a good job making sturdy designs. The Droid and Droid X are currently one of my favorites in terms of look and feel, definitely solidly-built as much as a Desire or a Nexus One.

Forgot about motorola, they've been pretty much wiped from my recommend list since the locked bootloader shenanigans.... I hope they unlock them

Random fact, I still have my moto v3x from 2006, still runs like a champ! Supports 3g too....

Atrix 4G is nearly cracked though, I'm rooting for the devs on this one. ZOMG you have a RAZR back then? I had the original V3 and the V6 Maxx, awesome mobiles with both form and function IMO. Loved to customize them despite running on an archaic platform.

To OP, best you could get at your current price range is the Nexus One, Galaxy S i9000, HTC Wildfire/Desire, and Motorola Droid 1.

I'd noticed on XDA, its a leap in the right direction. My god its taken a while, I'm happy HTC implements pretty much the exact same system for every phone and its cracked in a day or two.

Yeah, its screen rivals most screens today... so crisp and colourful, it iscomparable to my desires AMOLED screen when side by side. Awesome phones, I did my share of hacking it too... took me ages to get around to it but it was done

I wholeheartedly agree with those recommendations, although me being me I'd probably swing towards the HTC's...

update: I finally got the Samsung Vibrant (t-mobile's galaxy S) for $250 used. I almost got a new Nexus one on ebay for 260 but I like the Vibrant more. It looks to be in very good condition so I think that it was a almost new or refurbished. This phone's screen is so beautiful and android is awesome! Everything works fine except that the internet wont connect when I charge the phone (I use wifi only) but after I restart the phone the internet works again. Does any one know why this is happening? Also what should I do now? upgrade to 2.2/2.3 and how do I do it. I looked on xda dev and I got so confused!
