Attempting to hold off for LGA2011, but can't do it!

I'm about to just go ahead and pull the trigger on these parts to upgrade my sig rig, what do you guys think?
Is it worth it, or should I try and control myself for a few months?

Why don't you wait for Bulldozer?

Wait for LGA2011

Otherwise in 6 months you will be regretting your current purchase. Wait it out, save up some more cash and get uber high-end LGA2011 gear

Wow, I didn't even consider that.
Bulldozer chips should be coming out in a month or so, right?

Good point. Browsing OCN constantly gives me the itch to upgrade.
Damn you OCN!

Why not just go for the GPU upgrade?
The 920 still suffices so well, in 6 months you'll be glad you held on to it.

This

X58 is still an awesome platform. Its not like you are running a C2D system

You can wait another 6 months easily. I feel your pain though. I was about to pull the trigger on a 2600k and another 580 but decided against it after spending about 15mins telling myself I didn't need it since I can afford to wait til LGA2011 / Ivy Bridge.

You could use a GPU upgrade though and that should tide you over til LGA2011 releases

I'd hold until Bulldozer is out, as well as the LGA 2011.

You have a great chip, just OC it a bit more to 3.6-3.8Ghz and you should be an Overkill setup to serve you well enough until Ivy Bridge is out.

And don't worry, you're not the only one who feels like an upgrade itch when they visit OCN, I get that frequently, I was recently itched to buy a 3rd HD6970... Then realized I didn't even need a 2nd HD6970 for gaming, so I'd better stay with 2 rather than 3.

i7 9xx's are still not only perfectly fine, but show no legitimate reason to switch platforms right now. 775 and AM3 to SB, yes. x58 to SB? No.

Learn to wait. It's only a small upgrade. Not worth the money.

You don't need Sandy Bridge. Sandy Bridge is pretty much a quick revision. Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge Gen 2 will crush Sandy Bridge. Nehalem still holds up pretty good so why bother. Also, Bulldozer's coming. Don't disappoint me AMD.
