i7 2600k
Antec 1200 case
Antec CP850 PSU (designed for the Antec case)
ASUS Sabertooth P67 1155
ASUS GTX 590
Corsair Performance 3 128gb SSD
(2) Western Digital 1TB SATA 3 64M in RAID 0
Corsair H60 cooler
Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)
CyberPower GP 1200VA/720W Line Interactive UPS

Only using it on a LG W2486L for now (1920x1080), but intend to get 2 more for SLI.

I want to play all newest games on highest settings with slight overclocking for reliability (around 4.2-4.4).

Any information on compatibility would be appreciated. Any tips for cable mangagment would be good, too.

Total cost so far is $2970 AUD. I do live in Australia.
you can't run monitors in SLi.

Get a GTX580, then get another one when you want surround.

Don't get a antec 1200. Get a 650D/HAF 932/HAFX, and get a Silver arrow or D14 instead of H60.

16gb of ram is overkill. Get 8gb of Gskill ripjawz 1600mhz CL9. That's all you need. any more speed and you'll only get a few points on benchmarks. 16gb is useless, even for video encoding.

Get the UPS if you want it.

And if your asking 'Is this the best setup or what', it's not. That's a fairly average mid>>high system.

Thanks - I should have said surround vision instead of SLI. I am considering 580's in SLI. So not much difference between 8 and 16gb?

I have a feeling that my house gets a lot of surges, so I wanted to protect with UPS.

You only need 4gb for gaming. 8gb is so cheap, why not.

16gb just slows the pc down imo.

If your running multiple monitors and high resolutions it may be worth looking into getting a card with quite a bit of vram onboard.

Im running crysis with the texture pack by rygel and with 1920x1200 i can hit 1.5gb vram usage,i can only run x2 AA as anyhting over results in a crippling fps drop due to my vram limit.

Theres a 3Gb version available of the GTX580,imo worth looking into if your serious about surround vision, would be a damn shame to get a nice 3 screen setup and find you can only run at low resolutions due to vram restrictions.

I've got both the Samsung F3 and WD CB, and the CB is a much better performer. In comparison the F3's are much more sluggish however they are much cheaper. But that's my personal experience, other dudes seem to think the F3 is quick (it is but not as fast as the WD) I'd keep with the HDDs that you picked if I was you.

I'd get 2 580's or wait until the revised version of the 590's come out (some time next month apparently after having a quick read) Agreed that 16GB RAM is overkill. And everything else seems fine to me. although have a case re-think.

I can only really put a valid comment about the case as I own one.

Cable management: Can be a pain but if you spend a little time it can look as good as any other case in this department, just takes longer to get to the end result.

Cooling/airflow: One of the best but the fans are a little on the loud side when up full and if you wanted water cooling in the future there is limited options (I am yet to see a watercooled antec 1200 that doesn't look messy)

Size: not sure how much longer the 590/6990 is than my 6970 but I have about 2" to spare before my GPU runs into my hard drive bays, other than this its a beast and will fit practically anything in there.

Had my case for about a year now and love it, the only problem I have had is one of the front intake fans have got the dreaded tri-cool click (makes a rapid, annoying clicking sound)
And It supports the antec CP form factor PSUs which are beasts for the price.

As a phantom owner I agree.

Also that Sabertooth board is a dust trap and it gets hot. You should get the ASRock P67 Extreme6 or 4. G.skill Ripjaws would be good but i'd search the Overclock.net marketplace for some RAM. Theres always good RAM going in and out of there.

Also if you can get it i'd get the GAinward GTX 580 Phantom. Those are nasty!
