Really dude your hardware is your issue, there is no tweaking you can do. You can try to turn it all on low but if you do that and it still does not work. You really need a new computer.

I can run it on medium smooth and sometimes even on high[without aa, depend on server/lagg] i get steady 40-50 fps[fraps] i just tested it again!

2500k and 6950 should be able to run it nicely unless it's a console port which I doubt DICE dare to.

Your best bet is to take a look at our marketplace since your budget is low, but you may lose out on shipping, im not sure where your location is.

Resolution? this is a big ?? when your upgrading

I'd say you would need a quad core cpu, so maybe an Athlon II x4? they are 80 new on the egg and people here usually put them into combo deals in the marketplace, there was one with a mobo for 110, but again location plays a big role here.

Also consider a Q6600 if you want to run intel

and like another member here said, grab a 5850 or 460, friend of mine was playing on a 460 which I believe is considered below a 5850 so either should play fine

DDR3 dual channel ram is diiiirt cheap right now, so that shouldnt be much of an issue.

if you're happy with how it runs, then keep it like that, BF3 is going to be harder to run, you should just sell your pc, and buy a new one, there is nothing you can do to it.
if you wanted to buy a new CPU, you'd need a new motherboard, unless it's AMD, if you wanted a new GPU, I'm pretty sure it'd be bottlenecked, meaning, because your CPU is slow, the card won't run at its true power. but if you choose not to listen to the suggestions and buy a gpu, I'm pretty sure BF2 won't run any different than how it does now, meaning, you'd be back asking why the card doesn't help increase frame rates.

looked at your specs, whats the psu on your pc? upgrading could blow the psu if its some crap thing thats minimum for the specs.

But as for everything else, it supports am3 so grab a athlon II x4 620-640 and a gtx 460 768mb-1gb(again depends on resolution) or a 5850

It supports ddr3 10600 so if you just want better timings or something then you could grab some, but you should check and see what you have first

and lastly the psu, let us know what it is

I googled it and it will support this:

AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)
AMD Phenom II X3 7xx/7xxe Triple-Core (Heka)
AMD Phenom II X2 5xx (Callisto)
AMD II Athlon X4 6xx/6xxe (Propus)
AMD II Athlon X3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)
AMD II Athlon X2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)
AMD Sempron 1xx (Sargas)

Socket type: AM3
TDP: 95 watt

https://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...6&lang=en#N134

So which one is the best/ should i not buy one.
