With all do respect this is untrue. I have 2 zalman vf3000a that are installed on my HD 6950's.
It required slight modification.
1. The Mosfet heatsink needed to have a corner "dremeled" off to fit.
2. One of the memory heatsinks that also covers the Voltreg needed to be dremeled so that they became 2 individual pieces.
Other than these 2 minor mods all the holes align and the coolers work great.
2 things to consider if your going to use this cooler:
1. Be very very careful with the install. I bricked a card and I can't be 100% certain how it happened. Read the directions carefully and don't forget the little clear plastic pieces on the back of the heatsink. If you buy it you'll know what i am referring too.
2. One of the little nipples used to connect the sink to the card had bad threads however a quick email to zalman and they sent them out to me at no charge. Sent an email on friday and had them at my house on Monday. CA to MA.
On my crossfire setup (yes they work in crossfire on my p8p67 pro board)
The bottom card in my case which has good airflow my primary card idles at about 24C (19-20C ambient) and at load with Metro 2033 and Crysis benchmarks never get above 62C.
The Top card has MUCH less airflow but even this one tops out at about 80C under load and both fans at 100% are soooo much quieter.
So I can recommend these coolers with reservations as they do need to be modded and they bricked my card though I am sure it had to be partly my fault. But they are good looking, quiet and nearly silent. Thats a decent combonation.
