CPU: i5 2500k

MB: great

PSU: great

GPU: get newer cards (e.g. 560 ti)

RAM: corsair xms3

CPU COOLER: Dh14

HDD: great

CASE: great

WIN7: HP is cheaper and gets the job done

If you're not video encoding or using a program that benefits greatly from HT then the 2600k is a waste. Also, while that motherboard is nice, you can get all the necessary features in a board that costs far less. Get the 2500k and more mid-range board and put the money into an SSD. As far as RAM, I would recommend an 8GB dual channel set. 1600 Mhz seems to be the sweet spot as far as pricing goes - you don't have to pay much of a premium over the slower sets. Anything faster and you'll pay more for little real world benefit.

i have chosen hdd over ssd for a reason.. i know there is a huge diffrence... but i need more storage than speed at this moment in time.

That's $20 more than the 9-9-9-24 model - definitely not worth it. That's at regular price - the difference was over $30 a few days ago when the 9-9-9-24 kit was on sale at newegg.

OP, here's what I'd recommend.

Low voltage and has the heatsinks you wanted biggrin.gif

But you can get both if you make smart choices on your other components. You can save $100 alone from getting a 2500k.

I know you say "because I can" for 16GB ram, but that is complete overkill in most cases. Like I said, you can be smart with your other components and grab an SSD. What is your reasoning for getting that motherboard over cheaper models?
